The Help Desk Technician provides basic support and troubleshooting, such as password resets, printer configurations, problem resolution instructions, ticket routing, and escalation. Gathers and analyzes information about the user’s issue and determines the best way to resolve their problem. Provides technical support on company supported applications and platforms. Advise the end user appropriate action(s) to resolve issues. Logs all IT issues in the tracking system. Works on IT projects as assigned by the Technology Operations Team Leader. The qualified candidate will complete tasks with a positive, customer-service oriented attitude.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Providing day-to-day support of desktop PC software applications.
  • Logging service requests as open tickets, maintain status, and provide follow-up both to end users and to senior members of the Technology Team.
  • Scheduling and installing new hardware and software applications.
  • Keeping track of inventory and maintaining IT equipment (Desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, facsimile machines, monitors, desk phones).
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites (20 - 40%)
  • Staying current with system information, changes and updates.
  • Identifying and escalating situations requiring urgent attention.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Researching questions using available information resources.
  • Following standard help desk procedures.
  • Additional duties as required by supervisor.
Job Qualifications:
  • Must be able to diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
  • Ability to provide day-to-day support of desktop PC software applications.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on computer equipment.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective customer service skills a must.
  • Problem solving and analysis skills required.
  • Must be adaptable and open minded.
  • Planning and organizing skills required.
  • Learning skills necessary.
  • Thorough attention to detail required.

Employees are required to be honest and trustworthy with a satisfactory background. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation will be required as this position will entail the operation of a personal and potentially a company vehicle.
