Irene Woods Apartments is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician specifically with HVAC experience to join our team. The right candidate will be certified and experienced in all aspects of heating and cooling systems; ability to install, service, repair and maintain the control systems for heating and air conditioning, and all components related to the systems. We are looking for someone who can also help fulfill apartment maintenance service requests during any downtime.

Maintenance Technicians are required to have an understanding of hazardous communication, electricity, fire, ladder, and lock-out safety. If you are a hard working individual who has the necessary skills for this position, apply today to find out if you are the right fit for our company!

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting oneself in a professional manner as a company representative, demonstrating sound judgment and conduct.
  • Diagnose and repair or install HVAC equipment according to manufacturer specifications, safety requirements, and company standards.
  • Ensuring the quality and quantity of work; always maintaining high standards.
  • Meeting service deadlines.
  • Assisting with snow/ice removal, as required.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with residents and co-workers.
  • Must be experience with HVAC and EPA Certified!
  • Technical school graduate or equivalent apprenticeship in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and two years' experience at the journeyman level.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Thorough knowledge of materials, methods and hazards of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning trade with proficiency in the use of related tools.
  • Ability to perform delicate and intricate repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret building regulations and codes implemented by city, state and federal government agencies pertaining to installing air-conditioning units.
  • Ability to lift at least 80 pounds.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, such as climbing ladders and stairs; walking, kneeling, standing, squatting, twisting and bending for long periods of time.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Open to change and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must adhere to company team apparel policy.
  • Must present the ability to execute job duties under stressful circumstances, such as last minute deadlines or other difficult situations.

This position requires you to enter occupied units; therefore employees are required to be honest and trustworthy with a satisfactory background. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation will be required as this position will entail the operation of a personal and a company vehicle.
