Job Responsibilities:

The Social Media Coordinator will help promote the success of the Kalamazoo Division of Edward Rose and Sons through various responsibilities.  These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the monitoring of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and any additional social media sites that may prove beneficial to the success of the company.  The Social Media Coordinator will post messages and photos to any and all community social media pages and help community personnel that wish to post to their community’s social media pages. The Social Media Coordinator will also be responsible for monitoring and responding to any relevant ratings and reviews on websites such as Google, Yelp, Facebook, Apartments.com, ApartmentGuide.com, etc.  As well as conducting resident and prospective resident online surveys throughout the year.

The Social Media Coordinator will need to have strong computer skills and be able to communicate effectively with the Marketing Manager, Assistant Marketing Manager, Regional and Community Managers as well as other department heads in the Kalamazoo Office.  They will also need the ability to adapt quickly to the ever-changing environment of social media and the impact it has on marketing apartments through self-education and training opportunities including webinars, brainstorming sessions with the Marketing Department team and formal educational seminars.  The Social Media Coordinator will need the ability to train Leasing Agents, Assistant Managers and Community Managers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way. 

  • Assist Marketing Manager with various tasks including:      

    • Posting of text, image and video content to social media pages

    • Monitoring and responding to online ratings and reviews from residents and prospective residents

    • Research of prospective resident online search preferences and discover current trends

    • Measuring web traffic and monitor SEO

    • Helping communities set up engaging content on their social media pages that will increase traffic and customer loyalty

    • Conducting online resident surveys and report trends and areas of concern

    • On-site best-practices training for community personnel with regard to social media posting

    • Developing social media plan for new communities, including creating of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages that will help with the pre-leasing process

    • Monitoring competitor web pages, ILS listings and social media postings

    • Updating images and text to the edwardrose.com website

Job Qualifications:
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and a DMV record acceptable to the company’s liability provider

    • Reliable transportation

    • Able to travel over 600 miles from the Kalamazoo Office and stay at various locations for up to 4 days

    • Expertise in multiple social media platforms

    • Possess general computer skills including the use of various software programs including Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Yardi

    • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Comfortable with training and speaking in small and large groups

    • Able to meet hard deadlines and execute job duties under stressful circumstances

    • Possess general photography skills

    • Able to work evenings and weekends when necessary

    • Able to work with multiple projects simultaneously

    • Able to represent the Marketing Department and the Kalamazoo Office with regard to personal appearance, professionalism and conduct

Compensation:

Pay commensurate with experience
